York Technology Conference is a one day not-for-profit student event focused on providing the opportunity for students to network with fellow tech enthusiasts and industry leaders. The event includes workshops, talks and the opportunity to pitch your business idea for the chance to win £500.
The University of York Blockchain Development and Research Society was formed in 2018. The society aims to get the word out about blockchain, with respect to its applications in the future of economics, law, trade and governments.
Perfectly positioned as the “digital conference for curious minds” Dot York is a fascinating conference for anyone involved in the digital industries.
In 2018 the one-day conference included speakers from Atom Bank, Full Fact the Bristol Pound.

York Festival of Ideas is one of the largest free festivals in the UK, last year’s festival was enjoyed by over 40,000 people and was the winner of the 2018 award for Large Outstanding Cultural Festival at the York Culture Awards. The Festival offers over 100 free events, including talks from world-class speakers, exhibitions, theatre, music, films, guided walks, family-friendly activities and workshops.
Tribe talks focus on bringing entrepreneurs, freelancer and small business owners to hear talks throughout the year from business experts on their honest stories and insights.
